# Astral Continuum > Astral Continuum is an early-prototype multiplayer science-fiction game in which what players tell AI characters can change what those characters believe and do, spread to other characters, and reach other players as consequences. It is in playtesting, runs on the developer's own computer, and is not publicly available; there is no release date or price. ## Key facts - Genre: multiplayer science-fiction game of trading, investigation and social manipulation; combat is possible but optional. - Defining mechanic: persistent causal influence. A claim can change a character's beliefs and actions, spread between characters, and reach other players. - Current build (V0 prototype): one space station, Kestrel Station, with 12 zones, 24 AI characters in three factions, one market with six commodities, and room for 2 to 8 players. - Four starting roles: Hauler, Trader, Fixer's contact and Independent. - The characters' reasoning, planning and speech are rule code; every action is validated by deterministic game logic. No AI model is needed or used by default; an optional language model may only turn typed text into structured claims. - Client: a grey-box 3D client that runs in a web browser, with a first-session guide and keyboard control. - Status: early prototype in playtesting. It runs on the developer's own computer; testers join over a local network or a temporary link. Not publicly released; no release date or price. - Developer: callingbenjamin on GitHub (https://github.com/callingbenjamin). The game's source is not public. ## Pages - [Astral Continuum: a multiplayer game of persistent consequences](https://astralcontinuum.com/): What the game is, how it works, the current build, its status and questions answered. - [Astral Continuum: a multiplayer game of persistent consequences (Markdown)](https://astralcontinuum.com/index.md): the same page as Markdown. ## Elsewhere - [callingbenjamin on GitHub](https://github.com/callingbenjamin): The developer's GitHub profile, for updates.
